Prevalence & Incidence Studies

Conducting a Pressure Ulcer P&I Study is an important step in understanding the magnitude of your facility’s pressure ulcer issues.

The consensus document, International Guidelines – Pressure Ulcer Prevention: Prevalence and Incidence in Context, was developed by an international expert working group to provide guidance on performing P&I studies and how to use data collected to improve standards of care for PUs. The initiative draws on the significant clinical research evidence and the consensus opinion of 16 international experts in PU prevention and treatment.

Large RCT shows clinical efficacy of V.A.C.®

A new large multicenter randomized controlled trial shows a significantly greater proportion of diabetic foot wounds completely healed with V.A.C.® Therapy, compared to advanced moist wound therapy. The study also showed significantly faster wound healing, a reduced number of secondary amputations and no changes in therapy associated complications.
